2. Summary

This policy covers the website argofoundry.com / argofoundry.de and the Android app WTF My Space. The app analyses the storage on your device entirely on the device. File names, paths and sizes never leave your phone. The free app is funded by ads, for which data is shared with Google (AdMob) and RevenueCat as described in section 5.

3. Website

The website is served by GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit, GitHub processes technically necessary data (in particular your IP address, time, page requested, referrer, browser and operating system) to deliver the site and protect it against abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). GitHub is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Details and retention: GitHub Privacy Statement. The website uses no cookies, no tracking and no third-party fonts or scripts.

If you email us, we use your message only to answer it (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR). Mail to hello@argofoundry.com is forwarded by our domain provider Porkbun LLC (USA) to a Google (Gmail) mailbox.

5. Advertising and ad measurement

Google AdMob

The app shows banner ads through Google AdMob, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. This involves your IP address, the device’s advertising ID, device and app information, and ad impression and click events. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Consent: users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked on first launch, through Google’s User Messaging Platform (an IAB TCF certified consent tool), whether personalised ads may be shown and device information accessed for that purpose (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) German TDDDG). Without consent, Google serves only non-personalised or limited ads; the processing needed for that (delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention) is based on our legitimate interest in funding the free app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Changing your choice: in the app, open the menu and tap “Ad privacy”. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings.

More: How Google uses information from apps, Google Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat

The app uses the SDK of RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) to measure ad impressions and the resulting revenue (RevenueCat Ads). This involves a random, anonymous app user ID generated by RevenueCat, device and app information (e.g. model, OS, app version, country/language), IP address, and ad events (loaded, shown, revenue per impression). We do not link this data to your name or your files. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (measuring and settling ad funding). Transfers to the USA rely on the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or, where available, EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification. More: RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

The app has no in-app purchases, no user accounts and no other analytics or tracking services.

6. App stores

When you download the app, the store operator (Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. for Galaxy Store; Google Ireland Limited for Google Play) processes data such as your account, device and time of download under its own responsibility and privacy policy. We receive only aggregated statistics.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or required by law. Google and RevenueCat apply their own retention periods.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3), 15–18, 20 GDPR). Where we rely on legitimate interests you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). Contact hello@argofoundry.com. Because we do not link ad data to your identity, we usually cannot identify you in it (Art. 11 GDPR); you can also exercise your rights directly with Google and RevenueCat.

You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular ours: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany, www.datenschutz-berlin.de.

9. Children

The app is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

We update this policy when the app or the law changes. The version published here applies.
